Preguntas frecuentes

Everything you need to know before getting started.

What hardware do I need to use MyStrow?
A Windows 10/11 or macOS 12+ PC with a network card (built-in RJ45 or USB-RJ45 adapter), an Art-Net DMX node (configured to IP 2.0.0.15) connected to the PC via ethernet cable, and your DMX fixtures. The AKAI APC mini mk2 controller is recommended for live — a built-in simulator makes it completely optional.
How do I configure the DMX node?
MyStrow uses the Art-Net protocol — an open standard (UDP port 6454) supported by the vast majority of DMX nodes on the market. Any Art-Net-compatible node works: Enttec ODE, LumenRadio, Artnet4, and many others. Simply configure your node to IP 2.0.0.15 and connect it to your PC via ethernet. MyStrow detects it automatically on startup.
My PC doesn't have an RJ45 port — what should I do?
If your PC has no built-in RJ45 network port (common on modern laptops), a USB-to-RJ45 adapter is sufficient. These dongles are automatically recognized by Windows and macOS without additional drivers and allow you to connect your Art-Net DMX node to your PC in seconds.
How does the AI analyze my music?
In AI Lighting mode, MyStrow analyzes in real time the rhythm, frequencies and energy of your music and automatically generates colors, intensities and transitions across your 6 fixture groups. No programming required — plug in, start playback, and the lights adapt.
Is there any latency between music and lights?
Not perceptible. MyStrow sends DMX frames at 25 fps via a dedicated timer. Latency between audio and DMX commands is under 5ms thanks to the Qt Multimedia engine.
Which audio and video formats are supported?
Audio: MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, OGG. Video: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV — projected full-screen on a second monitor. You can also insert manual pauses or timed tempos in your playlist.
Is the AKAI APC mini controller required?
No. MyStrow is fully controllable by keyboard (Space for play/pause, PageUp/PageDown to navigate) and mouse. A built-in AKAI simulator is included in the interface. The physical controller offers the optimal live experience but remains optional.
How many fixtures can I control?
MyStrow organizes your fixtures into 6 independently controllable groups (A to F). It supports up to 4 Art-Net DMX universes — 2,048 channels total. Addressing is automatic (channels 1, 11, 21…) and fully customizable.
Can I save and reuse my shows?
Yes. MyStrow saves your shows in a .tui file: playlist, light sequences, timeline keyframes and patch settings all included. Transfer it to another machine and get exactly the same result.
Does MyStrow work offline?
Yes. MyStrow runs entirely locally — DMX communication passes through the local network via Art-Net (UDP). No internet connection is required during a show. A connection is only needed for initial licence activation and automatic updates.
